There are three types of grounding:

  1. Permanent

  1. Temporary

  1. Portable

Permanent grounding is when a grounding rod is driven into the ground and then connected to the electrical system. This type of grounding is typically used for buildings or homes.

Temporary grounding is when a metal stake is driven into the ground and then connected to the electrical system. This type of grounding is typically used for construction sites or during repairs.

Portable grounding is when a grounding rod is not driven into the ground but is instead connected to the electrical system via a clamp. This type of grounding is typically used for RVs or generators.
