What is Electrical Earthing : Different Types & Its components.

Most of us are unaware of the fact that the electricity that we use in our homes is actually a very dangerous thing. If not used properly, it can cause serious injuries or even death. That’s why it’s important to know about electrical earthing and the different types that are available.

Earthing is basically the process of grounding an electrical circuit or device. This is done to protect people and equipment from the effects of a fault or surge. Without earthing, an electrical circuit can become live and pose a serious threat to anyone coming into contact with it.

There are two main types of earthing – direct and indirect. Direct earthing is where the electrical circuit is directly connected to the ground. This is the most common type of earthing and is used in most homes and businesses. Indirect earthing is where the electrical circuit is not directly connectedto the ground but is instead connected to a metal rod or plate that is buried in the ground.

The main component of an earthing system is the earth electrode. This is a metal rod or plate that is buried in the ground. The earth electrode is used to provide a path for the current to flow into the ground in the event of a fault or surge.
