Why lightning protection matters in Bihar
Bihar is one of the states most affected by lightning in India, especially from April to September. Tall buildings, schools, hospitals, telecom towers, water tanks and open sites benefit from a lightning protection system with its own earth pits.
A lightning arrester only works if the strike has a low-resistance path into the ground, so the down conductor and the earth pits matter as much as the air terminal. A strike counter on the down conductor shows when the system has been hit and should be checked.
Most of the state is on the soft alluvial soil of the Ganga plain, which suits chemical earthing well. A copper bonded or G.I electrode in backfill compound usually gives a good, steady reading.

Questions from Bihar
Which lightning arrester is right for a school, hospital or tower in Bihar?
It depends on the height and size of the building and the area to be covered. A conventional multi-spike arrester suits many buildings; an ESE arrester can cover a wider area with fewer terminals. Send us the building details and we will recommend one.
Does a lightning arrester need its own earth pit?
Yes. Every lightning protection system needs down conductors and low-resistance earth pits to take the strike safely into the ground.
Do you deliver to Patna and the rest of Bihar?
Yes. We deliver across Bihar, including Patna, Gaya, Muzaffarpur, Bhagalpur and Darbhanga, by road from our factory in Howrah.
